Millie D’Costa
Millicent D'Costa (Faria), affectionately known as "Millie," passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 25, 1944, Millie lived a life dedicated to caring for others, both professionally and personally.
As a registered nurse and midwife, she touched countless lives with her compassion and unwavering dedication to her patients. Millie’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession; she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her devoted husband, Alex D'Costa; her children, Gerry (Harpreet) and Ash (Maya); and her cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Daphne; and her step-grandchildren Julius and Luca. Millie is also survived by her beloved sister, Philomena.
Millie's passion for creativity manifested in her love for arts and crafts, particularly quilting and paper tole, where she expressed her creativity and shared her talents with friends and family. Her commitment to her community was evident in her many volunteer activities, where she always sought to lend a helping hand and uplift those around her.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Red Deer on May 6th at 11:00 am. In lieu of money or flowers, the family appreciates any donations made in her memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her dedication to caring for others.
Millie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and creativity will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life.
